What did you do before you came to work on the IBIS project?
BSc Biological Sciences at National University of Ireland Maynooth, MSc Biodiversity and Conservation at Trinity College Dublin. I also completed a 4 month Invasive Species Internship at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine (ROI).
 
What is the topic of your research?
The Importance of size-fecundity relationships in the management of the European lobster.
 
You know me as a scientist but I may have been a...
journalist. I also applied for a BA in journalism upon leaving school, but instead decided to take the science route.
 
Mmhh… And if you would not even be a human, what would you like to be?
A dog. Why not be spoiled and pampered everyday without a care in the world.
 
I wish people would take more notice of
Renewable forms of transport.
 
In a nutshell, my philosophy is this:
Care for the environment and it will care for you.
 
And my biggest dream would be
to make a significant positive contribution to aquaculture.
 
What’s your favourite method / protocol / technique / equipment in the lab or field?
Does a rain-jacket count??? A rain-jacket or any form of water-proofing is essential for field work in the UK and Ireland!!!
